That's right, you read it well, no more flashing kernels to get root on your Android device, some guys from the xda forums finally got it done and we can all benefit from this amazing new tool. We all know the previously OneClickRootTool, but it seems that the dev never got it to actually work with the Galaxy S2, but fear no more, root is finally here for those who don't want to mess with Odin.
The tool is called, Easy rooting toolkit, created by DooMLoRD, using exploit zergRush (Revolutionary Team). Credits go to all those involved in making this possible!
Here's what the script does for you:
(1) root ur device using zergRush exploit
(2) install Busybox (1.18.4)
(3) install SU files (3.0.5)
Be sure to check all this stuff before you get started:
(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for your device
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING" from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES" from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
(4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
(5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC
#all you have to do is hit "runme.bat" and be prepared to get full ownership over your phone, you'll be amazed what it can do after you get rid of all the stock crap.
This script can also un-root your phone, if you ever need this for warranty issues.

Update 1, v2 available: DooMLoRD_v2_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip
Update 2, v3 available: DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip
Update 3, v4 available: DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip
With newest zergRush binary (21 Nov 2011) and few corrections/additions to script.
Be sure to check the original thread @ xda forums and give some love to all the devs who made this tool possible, if you can afford it, even a little donation would be recommended.

ReplyDeleteIt DOES NOT increment the flash counter ;)
ReplyDeleteSo if I use this to root and then unroot I can send it to bee fix ( not void warrenty ) ? please help I want to root so badly :D and will this wokr on xkwi8 2.3.5 ?
ReplyDeleteYes, it will not void your warranty, please follow the link from the post for further information
ReplyDeleteIm noob with rooting :/ I just left iphone 4s behind me for galaxy s2. And where can I find busybox and su files ? I can find busybox in market but when I search for su all I get is super user ... And I excpect this is SU , please help me I want to root asap :D
ReplyDeletethere's no need for you to install anything else, the rooting method will automatically install busybox ans SU
ReplyDeletefirst of all, install Samsung Kies from http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/SW/201105/20110512115717796/Kies_2.1.0.11112_41_7.exe
you have to install Kies to get the drivers you need for rooting, after that connect your phone to the PC, first time with USB Debugging turned off and then connect again with Debugging turned on
then start the app and follow instructions
ok, gonna try now :D will tell you how it went so dont go anywhere :D
ReplyDeleteDo I need to sync?
ReplyDeletein Kies? no, don't even open it after install, kies is used just for installing the proper USB drivers
ReplyDeleteoh, I did open it , does it make any difference ?
ReplyDeleteno, no issues, you can use it if u want, but after rooting your phone, if u make a rom update through Kies, it will remove root
ReplyDeleteok, will try now :D
ReplyDeletejust downloaded the winrar file and I can also see " adb.exe " is it needed ?
ReplyDeleteno, that file is needed for the rooting process
ReplyDeletethere's the possibility that your antivirus will show an alert after extracting, but there's no real threat, just a false positive
ok, will turn it of then :D wish me good luck :D
ReplyDeletejust finished :D went well. now I have superuser on my menu but what is it for ? Do I need it ?
ReplyDeleteglad to hear that :)
ReplyDeleteyes, you will need the SuperUser app from now on, everytime you install an app that needs root permission, SU will ask if you want to allow it, it practically stands between apps and root acces, you can always allow / block any app that needs root
Will this work on Stock android update 2.3.5? Also know as I777UCKJ1
ReplyDeletefollow the steps described in the previous posts, it should work just fine, the worst that can happen is root fail, the phone will remain untouched in this case
ReplyDeleteDoes this work on Indian Galaxy S2 running 2.3.6 XWKL1 ??
ReplyDeleteYes, it should work just fine.
Deletei hope someone is reading this post right now really need help running galaxy s2 on android 2.3.4 i have tried this methood but i just have no luck please help can someone please put a step by step of exactly how to do this

android version: 2.3.5
Kernal Version - 2.6.35.7-I9100JPKJ2
Will it be okay for me to root using the method you have mentioned ?
Also what are the adb drivers ? Is this related to the Kies software ?
Thanks
yes, you can use this method with no worries
Deletethe ADB drivers are installed when u also install the Kies software
just follow the steps described in the previous posts
Thanks a lot Androidium ! just rooted successfully
Deletewill it work on my galaxy s plus,android 2.3.5 XXKPF,basebandversion I9001XXKPF,kernelversion 2.6.35.7-perf root@DELL142#1?
ReplyDeleteit should work just fine, the worst that can happen is root fail, the phone will remain untouched in this case
ReplyDeletethanx a lot for the quick reply, going to charge it completely, then try to root it,let you know if i get it right
Deletejust downloaded the zip-file,is there anything else i should do,other than installing samsung kies? I understand i should't run Kies,it's just nessecary for the drivers.
DeleteIs it just connecting the phone in mass-storage,put the folder i unzipped on the internal memory, then run?
be sure to follow all the steps described in the previous posts
Deleteyou have to install Kies to get the drivers you need for rooting, after that connect your phone to the PC, first time with USB Debugging turned off and then connect again with Debugging turned on
then start the app and follow instructions
do you meen the apk or the RUNME file? I don't have to copy anything to my phone??
ReplyDeleteyes, just hit runme.bat :) that's all
ReplyDeleteokay...great...waiting for the battery to be charged. So i'll have to be patient for now, keep you posted
ReplyDeletethere's no need to have a full battery man, the process takes about 2-3 minutes ;)
Deletei installed kies,but i get a notification the drivers aren't installed correctly..is this a problem?Do i have to get them seperately?And if so,where can i find them?
ReplyDeleteo, and my battery was almost dead..
ReplyDeletewhen do you get that error, when connecting the phone? did you connect it with both usb debugging on / off?
ReplyDeletewhile installing kies
ReplyDeletedidn't have the phone connected yet
ReplyDeletethat usually means there's something messed up in your drivers, try re-installing Kies or manually install the drivers from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?5g6hry3noq6o47h
Deletethanx,i'll try to get the drivers seperately then
ReplyDeleteif i try to istall the drivers manually,i get a notification that the audio controllers aren't installed succesfully,is that a problem?
ReplyDeletenever heard of this, but it shouldn't be an issue, i guess you have some problems with your drivers, try to do an update for all of them, but fear not, it shouldn't interfere with the root action
Deleteokay,i'll just leave it for like it is and try to root my phone, keep you posted
ReplyDeleteworks like a charm on my SGS+,thanx for the support

ReplyDeleteno worries man, your data will remain untouched, but after the root procedure you will be able to fully backup your phone
DeleteHI! I'm a bit of a noob so please help.
